Dr. Kelly R. Heetland was born and raised in Valley City, North Dakota. He graduated with high honors from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). His undergraduate studies also included studying abroad in Wolverhampton, England.
While not in class, fulfilling leadership position, or playing sports, he work at several TV stations in Phoenix. This led to being offered the weather anchor position at a TV station in California. To be closer to his then fiance, Dr. Shawna, he worked in business and advertising in the financial district in San Francisco managing blue chip company brands.
Dr. Kelly spent some time on TV and movie sets before deciding he could make a more positive impact by going into healthcare and returned to school at the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco for his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. He earned numerous honors for leadership and academics including the California Dental Association award and the American Association of Orthodontics award for excellence in orthodontics all while serving as a national leader in the American Student Dental Association and liaison to the American Dental Association, graduating with honors, and induction into the Tau Kappa Omega Honor Society.
After dental school, Dr. Kelly spent 27 months of additional, full-time specialty training in Orthodontic residency at the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Pacific Dental School to complete his masters thesis in the genetics of and treatment of hypodontia (missing teeth) and earn his Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Dental Science (M.S.D.) degree to become an Orthodontist.
Upon graduation Dr. Kelly was happy to move to Wichita Falls to practice and live in a family oriented community. He continues to serve and has become the President of the Texas Assocation of Orthodontsts. In his spare time he enjoys sports, photography, traveling and spending time with his wife Shawna and their two children.

Shawna M. Heetland
Orthodontist, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Dr. Shawna M. Heetland grew up in Ahwatukee, Arizona. She graduated in the top of her class at Xavier College Prep high school in Phoenix while earning the Regina Caeli award for overall excellence in scholastic achievement and service.
She attended St. Mary's College (http://www.stmarys-ca.edu/) in Moraga, California, was captain of the Gael's cross country team and was named to the NCAA WCC All-Academic team. She also graduated as Valedictorian with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in health sciences.
After college she attended the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco (http://dental.pacific.edu/) to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree and become a dentist. She graduated with honors in the top of her dental class and was inducted into the Tau Kappa Omicron and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Societies. She also received the Excellence in Community Service Award and was the president of the Student Community Outreach Program of Education.
While in dental school she joined the United States Air Force. She served as a Captain and general dentist. She completed residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (A.E.G.D.) at the Mike O'Callaghan Hospital at Nellis Air Force Base near Las Vegas, Nevada.
After completing her tour at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico, she returned to the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco for orthodontic residency earning her Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry (M.S.D.) degree to become an Orthodontist. She also served on a medical mission as the dentist and orthodontist to treat patients with cleft lip and palates in San Salvador, El Salvador.
She practiced in the Bay Area as an Orthodontist for two years before moving to Wichita Falls with Dr. Kelly for its strong community, family values and quality of life.
She loves Orthodontics because of the positive impact she is able to make in the lives of patients. In her spare time she enjoys running and spending time with friends and especially her husband Dr. Kelly and their two children.

William G. Hendrickson
D.D.S., M.S.D.
Dr. William G. Hendrickson was born and raised in Conway, Arkansas. He received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Southwestern at Memphis (now Rhodes College).
He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) dental degree from the University of Tennessee to become a dentist.
After an internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and a tour with the U.S. Navy, he returned to Baylor University Dental School in Dallas for specialty training in orthodontics earning his Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry (M.S.D.) degree at which time he became an Orthodontist. He started our practice in Wichita Falls in 1980 and retired in 2012 though he still comes into the practice to visit with patients and review cases with the doctors.
In his free time he enjoys woodworking, golfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He has two grown children and four grandchildren.
